An Interview with Centennial College Student Donovan Papa

What do you like the best about being a student at Centennial College?

The best part about being a student at Centennial College is the relationships I get to form. Due to the fact that the college is a smaller size the student and teacher relationships form a more encouraging and welcoming community.

How has Centennial College helped you to make the transition from High School to College?

Centennial prides itself on providing the necessary tools to help students become autonomous. Having a very supportive education staff as well as C-spaces and other tricks, help students learn how to become more organized.

What are ways that Centennial College helps you to prepare for your future?

The members of the staff at Centennial are always inviting and encourage questions relating to future goals. I for one sought guidance on how to apply to university and the best way to tackle my course progression. All my questions were answered with a priority that shows how much the staff cares.

What is your favorite subject, and describe what it is like to be in class?

My favorite subject is Business. Learning about the business world in practical settings is crucial to keeping the class fun and interesting. The teacher Rocky Salera engages the class in a realistic way that highlights how content in class is used in the real business world.

What has been your most favorite moment at Centennial College?

My favorite moment at the college was the wild ping-pong tournaments that both the teachers and students would participate in during our lunch breaks.

If you could give future students a tip or piece of advice, what would it be?

The best advice I could give to future students is to utilize the great tools that Centennial provides. Ask for accommodations if you are entitled, seek guidance with the guidance counselor who is always welcoming and use the teachers who are always willing to donate their time to help any student.
