ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Centennial College’s policy is to admit as many qualified applicants as we feel will benefit from the pre-university education offered.

Quebec Applicants

A student must have the Quebec Secondary School Diploma (D.E.S.) or the Quebec Diploma of Professional Studies (D.E.P.).

A student completing the Quebec Secondary School Diploma (D.E.S.) must have completed the following courses:

  • Secondary IV Science
  • Secondary V Second Language
  • Secondary IV Mathematics
  • Secondary IV History
  • Secondary V English

A student completing the Quebec Diploma of Professional Studies (D.E.P.) must have completed the following courses:

  • Secondary V English
  • Secondary V Second Language
  • Secondary IV Mathematics

Documents Required

  1. Photocopy of your birth certificate indicating both parent’s names
  2. Valid medicare card
  3. Proof of Quebec residency (copy of parent medicare card, lease agreement or tax assessment)

Canadian Applicants from Other Provinces

Students who have done their secondary education in a Canadian province other than Quebec must complete the following to be admitted to the College:

  • Alberta Grade XI (67 – 100 credits)
  • British Columbia Grade XI
  • Manitoba Grade XI (minimum 13 credits)
  • New Brunswick Grade XI (minimum 12 credits)
  • Newfoundland & Labrador Grade XI (minimum 24 credits)
  • Nova Scotia Grade XI (minimum 12 credits)
  • Ontario Grade XI (minimum 22 credits)
  • Prince Edward Island Grade XI (minimum 12 credits)
  • Saskatchewan Grade XI (minimum 16 credits)

Documents Required

  1. Canadian Citizenship card (both sides) or IMM1000 form OR
  2. A copy of your Permanent Resident card (both sides) AND
  3. A copy of your CSQ (Quebec Selection Certificate).
  4. A legible copy of your birth certificate indicating your parent’s names (if it is not in French or English) it must be translated by a certified translator.
  5. A legible photocopy of your valid Health Insurance Card.
  6. If you are coming directly from abroad after completing your high school requirements, you must obtain ASAP course outlines for your last 2 years of study and ensure we receive them beforehand to ensure that the courses you took are equivalent to a SEC V education in Quebec.

Non-Canadian Applicants

Applicants from outside Canada must provide documentation indicating equivalent academic status to the Quebec Secondary School Diploma. They may have their academic backgrounds evaluated by the Service des equivalences d’études du Ministère des Relations avec les citoyens, 454 Place Jacques-Cartier, Montréal, Quebec H2Y 3B3. Students who are accepted for admission will be required to submit prior to registration a student visa or other legal immigration document, which is valid for the entire academic year.

Documents Required

  1. Copy of valid study permit issued by Immigration Canada.  Information on obtaining a study permit in Canada can be obtained at www.cic.gc.ca.
  2. A copy of CAQ (Certificat Acceptation Quebec) issued by the Ministry of Immigration of Quebec.  More information can be obtained at www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca.
  3. Proof of medical insurance.
  4. Birth certificate with English or French translation by a certified translator.
